What should I do if my LED lighting is draining the battery after use?Updated an hour ago
If your LED kit is draining the vehicle battery, there may be a wiring or installation issue. The control box can sometimes continue to draw power even when the lights are off, which can slowly drain the battery.
Steps to troubleshoot:
Check for damaged, cut, or pinched wires, or shorts in the LED strips/tubes that may cause a power draw.
Check the control box to ensure that it is shutting the lights off completely and that the control box is turning off.
Verify that any installed voltage reducer (on golf carts) is functioning correctly and not pulling power while the vehicle is off.
- To prevent battery drain, the kit can be connected to a 12V switched power source so it only receives power when the vehicle is on.
