What should I do if my LED lighting is draining the battery after use?Updated an hour ago

If your LED kit is draining the vehicle battery, there may be a wiring or installation issue. The control box can sometimes continue to draw power even when the lights are off, which can slowly drain the battery.

Steps to troubleshoot:

  • Check for damaged, cut, or pinched wires, or shorts in the LED strips/tubes that may cause a power draw.

  • Check the control box to ensure that it is shutting the lights off completely and that the control box is turning off.

  • Verify that any installed voltage reducer (on golf carts) is functioning correctly and not pulling power while the vehicle is off.

  • To prevent battery drain, the kit can be connected to a 12V switched power source so it only receives power when the vehicle is on.
