In most cases, boats already come equipped with factory auxiliary 12V switches that are suitable for powering aftermarket accessories like this lighting kit. If your boat has an available auxiliary switch, the kit can typically be wired directly into it for simple on/off control.

If your boat does not have an existing auxiliary switch available, you will need to purchase a compatible waterproof switch separately. This ensures safe and reliable operation in a marine environment where moisture resistance is important. The switch will then allow you to properly control the lighting kit while maintaining a clean and secure installation.
